The Digital Library of the Caribbean (dLOC) is a cooperative digital library for resources from and about the Caribbean and circum-Caribbean, and community. As a digital library, dLOC provides access to digitized versions of Caribbean cultural, historical and research materials currently held in archives, libraries, and private collections.

As a community, dLOC has collaborated to develop the SobekCM Open Source Digital Repository software), the SobekCM tools for digitization and digital curation, guides and videos on digitization of cultural heritage materials, supports knowledge sharing from the 37 dLOC partner institutions to continue to grow and support the communities, invites new partners to also contribute by sharing materials with centralized hosting and preservation and where all partners retain rights to their materials only granting permissions to dLOC for support, provides resources on dLOC’s permissions-based model, and supports research and teaching in collaboration with dLOC Partners and using dLOC resources for research and teaching on the Caribbean.
