The Doctor of Philosophy in Development Communication is designed to enable students to: (1) acquire a broader and deeper understanding of theories, principles and approaches of devcom; (2) generate and advance knowledge on devcom through creative research approaches; (3) evaluate, formulate, and recommend devcom policies, systems and approaches; and (4) discern, analyse, and articulate trends and issues in development and in communication and their interfaces. The Ph.D. graduate in development communication is expected to have acquired competencies in administration, theory building, policy formulation and analysis, scholarly research and strategy design, aside from possessing the competencies of the MS devcom graduate.
