The Master of Science in Development Communication is designed to enable students to: (1) synthesise knowledge, theories, principles and strategies of communication and apply them in addressing problems of development at different levels; (2) gain a wider perspective of the theory and practice of the different schools of thought of development communication; (3) develop further the ability to conceptualise and conduct research in development communication; (4) develop capability for professional leadership in development communication; and (5) develop and apply devcom skills in an integrative, innovative and wholistic manner. The MS graduate in development communication is expected to be competent in teaching; research and evaluation; design and management of devcom systems; and programme/project development; aside from possessing the competencies of the BSDC graduate.
